CAT 3, Cat 5, CAT 6 & Fiber Optics
We support Cat 3 wiring and we install CAT 5 and CAT 6 along with Fiber. We generally use Commscope for general cable, but can procure any brand that is desired or required. For Patch Panels, Racks, structured cabling or Panduit we use Ortronics or Commscope, but if you want AllenTel, Corning type brands just let us know.
On all of your CAT 6 wiring we will install and program our full line of Alcatel-Lucent data products and wireless products. Most of these come with a lifetime warranty. Avaya has a nice line of data switches and routers. Between Alcatel-Lucent and Avaya you will find that Cisco is no longer the best and is no longer a good value.
New Orleans International Airport Project
First Communications has just completed a massive wiring project for the new North Terminal of the New Orleans International Airport. FCC wired many of the concessions, vendors, and carriers at the location on all three levels from the fiber backbone to the outlets in user areas. We used Corning fiber optics, CAT6, and CAT3 to connect from communications rooms to client cabinets and CAT6 from cabinet to end user areas.
We implemented solutions from a variety of networking, patch panels, racks, and cable management systems: Corning, Panduit, Seimens, and Cisco, just to name a few. Our engineers have been trained in fiber optics by certified Corning representatives; running and terminating 6, 12, 24, and 48 strand fiber single mode LC to LC connections. In addition, we installed LMR Coax cable, and antenna systems for communications between ground crew, runway, and aircraft.
